The Lowdown...
Not only are these levels hard, but they represent the fact that two
people, with no experience behind them, can produce something above average
and enjoyable. At the beginning, these levels were to be released
as normal everyday levels, until we decided to be a little different.
A TC would take too long, so we decided on making a few levels, that would
take just as long to complete. They contain many things never seen
before in a Blood level, that we hope will shock many level makers to try
things other than beautiful pieces of architecture. For us, this
is what level making has always been about, and what the editor of Blood
is so very good at doing. We challenge Blood players to complete
all of these levels, without cheats, and find all of the hidden secrets.
So, without further ado please study the words before you and enjoy Caleb's
toughest of challenges, as he faces...the Gods.
Code maps...
Because of the high amount of cut-scenes, we had to put in three episodes
(2 cuts per episode). Each of these though, are protected by a code
(see codes) that stops people taking a sneak peak at the later levels.
Obviously, there are ways around this, but for the sake of the story, we
thought it was a smart thing to do. There are two of these levels.
Intro map...
The Intro is not part of the Trilogy, instead it is a warm-up for what
is yet to come. It begins the story, and smooths the journey
down quite a bit. Helps with the atmosphere too :)
Hell map...
Quirky in design, this map is where things get interesting -and difficult.
(Mokuma will kill you like nothing before...)
Viper map...
The secret level. Find this one, and then complete the tasks
given to you. It requires more intelligence than fighting skill,
but is still very hard.
Gods last resort...
The most difficult level in the Trilogy. Also contains a lot
of things never before seen in a Blood level. Cheat on this one,
and you will be disappointed. Do without cheats however, and you
will be amazed.
Save a lot. Over multiple save spots too. Make that all of the save spots.
If you are having massive amounts of trouble working out a puzzle, try restarting the level. Something may have gone wrong somewhere, or something may have been missed along the way. You never know...
Turn down the lights wherever you are. Some of the levels are dark, and any kind of shine off the monitor can be distracting. Helps with atmosphere also - that being the main idea.
If you have on some music, keep it at a level where you can still hear the sound fx. Some are important towards the puzzles.
Read ALL of the documents. (apart from the gods.ini etc) 90% of the puzzle clues can be found in the story of Gods.
Don't use cheats. Every now and then I use them to have some fun, but these levels will be ruined by them. I have used cheats before on good levels and regretted it. Instead, get good enough to solve the problems - it's far, far more rewarding. Trust me on that :)
If you can't see the cut-scenes, (for some reason) these levels are best left alone. The story is the most important factor.
Hope you like reading...
If you enjoy these levels, try and make something more adventurous than
a normal level. Sometimes, it's the best way to get better.
*hint hint*
Codes are what we have put in to stop people from peeking at the later levels. Ok, anyone with half a brain could work out a way around this, but it's mainly there for story telling purposes. Also, it's for people who accidentally choose the second episode first - for example. (happens you know, and thus making the story seem crapola)
Lastly, it looks really professional, and that is what I wanted in spades :) Take note - have a piece of paper ready to take down the codes -- They are easy to forget. After entering the numbers you want, seek out the exit of the level.
CODE example -- 4619
