================================================================ Title : Deadtown Filename : deadtwn.bsp Author : Tim Posch (Desiato) Email Address : timposch@ix.netcom.com Description : A 'snipematch' level made for use with Future vs. Fantasy patch. Also works pretty well as a deathmatch with reaperbots. Empty 'town' would be bigger if I could stand VIS times longer than 20 hours with the same level of detail. Additional Credits to : The guys at the Mecca, for rating bruiser and giving me motivation to put another one out :) Also kudos to Stomped.com for listing it ever so briefly in their daily-changing file section. Testers : Snakeeyes (a kickass sniper, watch out!) and a couple of hilarious crackwhore reaperbots. (Those skins just get wilder every passing day..) ================================================================ * Play Information * Level Name : Deadtown Single Player : no Cooperative 2-4 Player : no Deathmatch Player : yes FVF Sniper Play : HELL YES! Difficulty Settings : no * Map Notes * This level took over 20 hours to VIS on my P120 w/16megs, so I'm not about to make any minute changes...(although there are a few)..First off, Yes -- I know there is a brush that displays a grey side, and I have no idea why that is happening...I ran a FULL vis, so I can't really explain it. If you are getting grey-out, please adjust your r_maxsurfs and r_maxedges to at least 8000 -- it helps out a lot. (Just place them in your autoexec.cfg or activate it at the console...remember, it doesn't take effect until you RELOAD the level -- if you type it in from the console.) This map is primarily intended to be used with Future Vs. Fantasy in the 'sniper' mode. Me and my friends call it 'stalkmatch' where you use the ledges and dark spots to totally gib the living hell out of an unsuspecting target..(try CROSSHAIR 1) I have also played this as a regular deathmatch, and it performed rather well. Feedback is encouraged and appreciated. Thanks! * Construction * Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) used : Worldcraft Known Bugs : One brush near the bridge displays a grey face instead of the proper texture, and the button to display my email address moves the wrong way...D'OH! (you always find the small stuff AFTER VISing.) Thanks for your tolerance... * Legal Stuff * You may distribute this level for free, as long as you include my text file and give me credit. You may not modify this level. If you plan on distributing this map on a CD Collection you >>MUST<< contact me first for my approval. Pending such approval, you will also have to submit a copy of the CD to me, after all -- I spent the time making the level, you didn't. Actura software and other shovelware authors are absolutely FORBIDDEN to touch my .map .bsp .txt .zip or any other files I generate. 'Failure to comply' means when I find out I will use my access to a T1 line to fill your server with 5 Gigs of text saying -- "You suck". Don't make me do that. Have a nice day :) * Where to get this MAP * On assorted FTP/Web sites. cdrom.com, etc...
