Well this is the seventh that id forgot to make, so I did it for them! Imagine a combination of DM4 and E1M7 and that's what DM7 is. Email me with your opinion. Description : Not just another Deathmatch map for Quake. Basically if you liked E1M7 and/or DM4 of Quake you will like this (well I do). Check it out for yourself, it plays really well. NO HIDE AND SEEK You wont get lost, it isnt a long and windy level just a nice little gift wrapped box with explosive action inside. ENJOY! (Like DM4) No secrets! (WYSIWYG) Hard to get rocket and lightning guns! *It works similiar to Doom2 level 1 in that one deathmatch start gives you more weapons. In this there are four out of about 12 starts where both the UNLIKE MOST MAPS, rocket and lightning guns are, with no other way to THIS *ISNT* A get them. Personally I like this (though not all do) ROCKET FEST! After all either of these guns will probably get you a few frags, and the guns will lie around in backpacks, so they aren't impossible to get. Frankly I'm sick of playing levels where either of these guns and some decent armour is a sure way of lots of frags. This is different, but works great! Also note: The lava up the top is simply to stop CAMPER FREE MAP Campers from setting up shop up the top. If you do start up the top just walk forward and fall down! Looks nice! This demo is very short to minimise the size of the ZIP. It gives an idea of the map. * Play Information * Single Player : Yes, (Reapers or some other bot) Reaper note: For some reason Reapers don't get the Quad damage very often down the bottom. Kinda sux, but it's hard enough as it is....:) They also die occasionally up the top. Ah well, it's better than them wasting you when you start up there :) Dunno about other bots as I dont use them. Cooperative / Teams : NO!/YES! If you wish to include on CD/DISK etc I'd appreciate email. * Where to get this ZIP * WWW : FTP : IRC : Just ask me to dcc you it perhaps (wollongong.oz.org 6667) #Quake #Doom2 or pop in for a chat...... ============================================================================================ INSTRUCTIONS: These are down the bottom so as most people aren't offended! :) ============================================================================================ First UNZIP everything into your Quake directory using dos or windows (there are no long file names so don't worry. now move (or copy then delete): dm7bal.dem to the quake\id1 directory dm7bal.bsp to the quake\id1\maps directory (if it doesn't exist create it) To run the demo type (from the quake directory): quake +map dm7bal +playdemo dm7bal To just use the map type: quake +map dm7bal To use it in a multi-player game every body needs the BSP. TIP: add the line to your config file: bind F1 "map dm7bal" *Now when you hit the F1 key in Quake it will load up the map. (IF you don't know what this is about, go to the quake\id1 directory and add this line to the autoexec.cfg Balrog \> Remember that name!
