================================================================ Title : Retro Edge Date : 11/10/98 Filename : q1_q2dm1.bsp Author : Steve "magicman" Thoms Email Address : magicman@nihilistic.com Description : You don't need much of a description if you've played any : Quake2 deathmatch. It's essentially a replica of The Edge. : If you haven't played any Quake2 deathmatch, you can finally : see the map everyone online is playing. Additional Credits to : Tim Willits for breaking the mold with the original : Yahn Bernier (went back to BSP to build this map) ================================================================ * Play Information * Single Player : sure, if you really suck, you'll find this map disturbingly easy Deathmatch : yes Difficulty Settings : no * Construction * Base : a new level from scratch, kinda : (based on The Edge - Q2DM1, tons o' screenshots) Editor(s) used : BSP Known Bugs : None Build Time : a relaxing weekend Textures used : Quake base texture theme Compile machine : 286 QBSP time : 3 days VIS time : 14 nanoseconds LIGHT time : 4.13 decades Brushes : 8 Entities : I think so ================================================================ * Other Info * I did not somehow create a .bsp to .map converter or a .bsp to .bsp converter and I didn't get the map file from Tim or anyone else (I would have liked to and asked him, but circumstances prevented it). It's a fairly accurate replica although some areas are off. If you're really familiar with Q2DM1, you'll notice. If not, you'll think it's pretty damn close. I didn't have any armor shards, little health things, or separate grenade ammo to scatter around in Quake, so I did what I could. Enjoy. * Copyright / Permissions * Copyright? Can you really own a copyright just by putting (c) at the bottom of a text file? That seems odd. So, on that note...don't do anything greedy, stupid, illegal, corrupt, sexually deviant, or otherwise naughty with this map. If you do, I reserve the right to say bad things about your mother on national television. Copyright (c) and stuff...property of me or my heir.
