**** This map designed for the TeamFortress v2.x quakeC mod **** 11/5/98 ================================================================ Title : The Drome Filename : drome1.bsp Author : Grub the Raper[8] Email Address : huey@1starnet.com QW : Description : TeamFortress v2.x Quake Map TeamFortress Homepage : http://www.planetquake.com/teamfortress : http://www.teamfortress.com Additional credits : Gringo Miscue[8], Agent Orange[8], and the rest of the Van Buren Boys for their suggestions and playtesting... ================================================================ * Play Information * This map does not work properly without the TeamFortress v2.65 or higher QuakeC patch, which can be downloaded from http://www.planetquake.com/teamfortress Single Player : Yes, to look around... Cooperative : No Deathmatch (2-32) : No TeamFortress (2-16) : Hell yes Difficulty Settings : No New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : Brand new level Editor(s) used : Worldcraft 1.5b, Qoole, EntED(allowed me to learn lots about Team Fortress entities you should get this if you want to map TF) Known Bugs : Cockroaches, aphids... Build Time : bout 50 hrs over a 3 week period... lots of that time was me trying to figure out TF entities Qbsp : not too terribly long Light : (Extra) not too damned long Vis : (Level 4) not all that long * Game Play * The Drome is an extremely fast-paced Team Fortress/CTF expierence, the object is to cap the flag upon your own flag... and teams can return their own flag, just like in classic CTF... I suggest console sets maxfrags to 150 or time limit to about 10-15 mins for this one since the rounds will tend to wear some players out... less strategy here as action; a test of that Quake-specific term "skillz". There are 2 powerups in the map, they are easy to spot and damned near impossible to reach, especially in the heat of battle. A soldier may use a gren/rocket combo jump, a demoman may use pipes (prolly the easiest way), a sniper may shoot a teammate if team kills are off... and possibly other ways to reach the powerups. I wanted to make a map that would be fun for as few as 4 players since when [8] got its server back, there were not too many peeps that hung out on it ;) The Drome gets pretty wild with 8 or so, and above that it will be sheer mayhem, especially when some bastard manages to get one of the quad/pents. Guaranteed for a gib-soaked good time ;) Grub the Raper[8]
