Most of he weaponry in Quake2 has been changed in some way. Fire Mode 1 : How it fires normally. Fire Mode 2 : How it fires differently, if at all. Underwater : If it fires underwater or not. Ammo : What type. If limit not specified, then it is based on the available carry device a player has (Nothing, Bandoleir or Pack) Reloads : Wheter or not it requires reloading. Weight : How much it will effect
player. You can only carry one heavy weapon at a time.
Pistol (Ex-Blaster) :
For one thing, it is now called the 'Pistol'. Its other main change
is that it does require ammunition (Bullets) and needs to be reloaded every
25 shots.
Machine Gun : Kick
removed and it now requires reloading.
Chain Gun : Need
to defend something? This is your weapon. Need to move?
Forget it! The bonuses of using this weapon balance out pretty good
against its drawbacks. For starters, theres the weight and need for
a special pack of ammo. Then there is the spin up time in fire mode
one, or just the constant noise in fire mode two. Of course, we can't
forget the massive amount of recoil, reducing your movement while firing
to something of a crawl. On the plus side it has a firing rate like
no other and the ammo capacity to take it. Oh yeah, it can also shoot
through walls and people rather effectively.
Grenades :
Smart grenades no longer. These now have a time delay only.
That's it.
Grenade Launcher :
Greater range and effect then normal. Explode after by timer, or
by contact (After a safety delay).
Rocket Launcher :
Greater speed and effect then normal.
Laser (Ex-Hyeper Blaster) :
Shoots multi-coloured laser instead of hyper-bolts. Eats up ammo
fast. Less damage.
Railgun :
Damage increased. Shoots thought people, walls, floors, windows.
The weight of it and its ammo make up for it.
BFG 10K :
Nothing. Zip.
