Released: 20/Dec/98 ================================================== Title : UKDM2 : Quake 2 conversion of the official UKCL deathmatch : level - UKCLDM2 (UK Clan League map) Filename : ukdm2.bsp Author : Michael Oates (Slayer - member of "The X" clan) Email Address : mike@ph.u-net.com Home page : http://www.ph.u-net.com/quake.htm Description : Medium size Deathmatch level Additional Credits to : Ben Morris creator of WorldCraft, : Also thanks to Tristan P for his suggestion : that a conversion be done, John Simpson : for putting the map on a server to test on line. : And to all those that tested the beta maps, who gave : their valued comments. =================================================== * Play Information * Game : Quake 2 Registered Map Name : UKDM2 Single Player : No Co-op : No Deathmatch 2-16 : Yes, 6 Deathmatch Starts 6 - 10 players ideal Difficulty Settings : No ================================================== * Construction * Base : Conversion from Q1 UKCLDM2. (my first Q2 map) Editor used : WorldCraft 1.6a Conversion time : Dunno, about 2 weeks on and off Known bugs : none ================================================== * Notes * Although the map does look a lot better than the original QuakeI map (ukcldm2), as this is a straight conversion, I may find that it does not play as well with QuakeII. After all, QuakeII is a completely different game, it looks and feels very different. The weapons are also far removed from those used in Quake1. I could have made quite a number of changes to make it more suitable for QuakeII, but then it would not have been a conversion would it ? So if this map does not get played much (or at all) I will understand. I can take a failure now and then :( The name UKDM2 was chosen because this is what UKCLDM2 (Quite a mouthfull) was often called. I do not assume that this map will get played in UK Clan matches, so I hope the name does not clash with any "official" UK maps being created. * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels.
