LaunchQ v4.5 LaunchQ is the BEST Quake launch and configuring program out! (no, really!) *** To get the LATEST version, visit http://home.megalinx.net/~dragon It enables you (just by clicking) to totally configure your Quake to run ANY way you want! Set your mouse speed ONCE and forget it! Set it so it wont look for a joystick! Make it EASY to connect to Internet servers IN QUAKE! Never forget to load that special MOD on a particular server! Never have to remember that odd PORT number for a particular IP! I have given up even trying to recap the previous versions, so many changes, so little time... Briefly this newest version changes these things: LaunchQ 4.5: Changed the IP edit routine.. I feel that this change made it real easy to edit the IP's. Changed it so it will automatically change the game type. For example: If you set a connection address to IPX, it will load for IPX when you select that IP, same for MODEM (Phone Number) or SINGLE PLAY. Added an option to change the QUAKE.EXE name so you can use the Wingman Warrior (ect..) Changed code so it NO LONGER changes the AUTOEXEC.CFG file.. LaunchQ now tells Quake to execute LAUNCHQ.SCR in the command line... This fixes it when Quake is not ran from LaunchQ itself. Made LaunchQ better looking and more compact by using TABBED windows. Now compiled using VISUAL BASIC 5.0 which optimizes better and faster running code. Tryed making my own server polling feature, but alas VB5 STILL has problems sending NULLS and that is required by the QUAKE NETWORK PROTOCOL. LaunchQ 4.0: IP addresses are listed where the discriptions used to be and vice-versa. This is because the description would be the best way to find out what the server is, not by some IP number. The PORT changes when in the game are now automated... So if you hit \3 to connect to the 3rd server on your list, it will also change to that servers port for you. Cleaned up some code. Made the \ command changable.. (some DSQC members bitched cause they used the \ key... Imagine! ) Made the display in Quake when using the \ key more readable. Cleaned up the exiting of the program before it launched Quake. Changed the MAP box to display any map files you may have, before you always just could type the map in, but people got confused. Took the Splash screen count in half (Wolverine) So you dont have to wait as long. (NOTE: This only comes up when LaunchQ is first run anyways) Added an AUTOEXEC.CFG editor in the menu bar. (Faster than loading up WORDPAD!!!) Other than that, LaunchQ is pretty much self explainitory, and the idea was to make it simple and fast to use. Things I am working on adding: 1. Something like QSTAT or QSPY integrated into LaunchQ itself 2. QuakeWorld support 3. More if I can think of it! If ya think it should be in LAUNCHQ, MAIL ME!
