UrbanCTF allow you to play to several CTF game mods. Here are their description

Capture The Random Flags

Capture The Random Flag mod is really unusual ! You must find the enemies' flags in the whole level !

After you've found your enemy's flag, you then must find YOURS ! Teamplay starts here.
A good strategy is to separate the team in 2 groups. 1 goes for the enemy flag, the other for the team's flag.

Once the 2 flags are found, you must capture the enemy's flag on your own one. After that, the enemy's flag will be re-spawned randomely in the level.

Regular Capture The Flag

The good old capture the flag, fast, insane, tricky... Depending of the map, there will be 2 or 3 teams fighting each other. Red, Blue, and Yellow player. Organize defense, and attacks to rule the world !

UrbanCTF has many other features, such as the folowing ones...

Day & Night Rotation System
"Scared in the dark ?"

One of the most powerful feature of the mod. The night falls, seconds after seconds, to show at the end a total darkness in all the level ! You'll have to get used to the toolkit menu (Flashlight & Flares) in order to navigate in the night. So, scared in the dark ?

Then, the sun rise again in the sky ! The level becomes more brighty seconds after seconds. A good srtategy is to prepare yourself to the combat during the day, with weapons, ammo, powerups... and attack during the night, like most of the predators do !

The Toolkit menu

The toolkit menu

The toolkit menu is very important. It contains vital tools (espacially for the night - can also be activated by a console command), but also your class's special powers, or abilities. In the general toolkit menu you'll find :

  • Flares : this will drop a bright grenade which will light a radius for 15 seconds

  • Flashlight : this useful tool will light your way while playing in the dark

  • The Chasecam : see yourself at a third-person viewpoint

  • Upgrade menu : this menu will allow you to active or desactive some parts of your team's technology (researched by the Engineer). See details here.

The Bonus & special ammos

While fragging in the level, you'll certainly find the folowing strange bonus :

  • The Jetpack : allow you to fly wherever you wan't, exept in water...

  • Night Vision goggles : you'll see heat-sources in red, useful to fight in the dark

  • Energy packs : a new type of "ammo". This will mostly be used by the Engineer (in order to pay the upgrades), and by the medic (in order to create armors, health boxs, & such). Every player which pickup an energy pack in the level must bring it back to the Research Lab (of your team's Engineer), so the Engineer can use this energy to upgrade the team's technology. Also, they can drop some energy packs to the medic, so this one can create armors and health boxs for them. Use the command "drop energy" to drop some enery packs.

Locationnal Damage

You can make more/less damage depending of where you shoot your enemy :

  • 2x normal damage in the head

  • Normal damage in the body

  • -35% of the normal damage if shot in the legs

Dynamic Item Placement

This is a server-side only feature : it allows server admins to customize the levels they want to run on there server. They now can add weapons, ammos, flags, spawn points in any levels they wish, even in deathmatch levels ! The datas are saved on the server's hard drive, and will be re-used when the map will load again. See the commands section for more info.

Customizability

You can change a lot of UrbanCTF settings by editing the file "urban.ini" coming with UrbanCTF (still server side only). You can change the weapons damage, class names, class jetpack gravity, and even more ! Servers should edit it if they want a more customized game.

Vote

Players can vote warping to another level, or even kicking a badass player with the vote command. See the commands section for more info.
