================================================================ Title : RemoteChance Date : 20th September 1999 Filename : r_chance.bsp Author : Steve Lyne aka "Scary-one" Email Address : steve.lyne@telia.com Home Page : http://scary1.remotepoint.com Description : This map was created for, and is dedicated to, the guys on the RemoteChance server. It is my way of thanking them for having supported me by continually including my larger maps in their server rotation. Half-Life DM is an endangered species, and it seems to me more fitting to make the maps directly for the loyal audience which is commited to this aspect of the game. "Vector's RemoteChance" is a Half-Life server at 204.221.114.10 The server is located at RemotePoint (http://www.remotepoint.com) in Minneapolis, MN ---> Visit the RemoteChance homepage at: http://vector.remotepoint.com/ This map has been tested by, and partially created according to the wishes of, the RemoteChance gang. In other words the following dudes are somewhat responsible for this mess :) Vector, Amoeba_Protozoa, subatomic, PulpySnowboy, [BtB]Raider, thump!, Elkdog, Maki, Billy_Barule, Uglystyle, GuySmiley & Fade. (forgive me if I missed anyone) History : The base of RemoteChance comes from an 1 on 1 map I knocked up a long time ago. It was intended, at the time, to be included as part of a mod. Due to a clear difference of interests I never persued working further with this mod, and I figured that the map, which was then in their hands, had a fairly good chance of coming out when the mod was released. I was happy with that. By chance, I was informed by a member of the mod, that my level had, in fact, been "lost" and would NOT be featuring in the mod. This didn't surprise me particularly, but I felt it was a shame. Several months after this conversation took place it occurred to me that the level may as well just be removed from my hard drive, since it was serving no real purpose just floating around there. I was VERY close to deleting all trace of its existance from the earth. I was adamant that I would never release it in form it was in ... so what was the point in keeping it? I finally reached a comprimise situation where I decided to amend both the appearance and size .. in an attempt to create something other than what was there. And thus RemoteChance was born. It took a fair while after that to find the key to opening this level up, but I'm finally able to breathe out. And what a relief ... a long time after I placed the first brush, the map is actually going to surface.
