Textures: Standard Quake, Zerstörer (lightning plates), many selfmade graphics (most of the computer stuff, signs, colored wires). ------------------ 2.) The Story: What happened on the Eichenberg Labs computer station? The Eichenberg Labs belong to a huge biotech plant, and they have the biggest super computer in the world of the year 2078. However, several hours ago, Elektronenhirn, which means "electronic brain", the main AI that controls the plant, closed and locked all the doors of the computer station and held the crew in prison. Soon, the men were thinking about what happened. They knew that the AI had been purchased from the TriOptimum Company, before it went broke . The TriOptimum Company went broke, after their 100 billion dollar project, the Citadel Space Station, was destroyed through a fatal computer bug. The AI programs on the Citadel station could be disabled by a hacker who was the only survivor. He escaped on the blown-off bridge of Citadel. Soon the terrible truth was found: Elektronenhirn was the same kind of AI that took over Citadel station, killed it's crew and threatened mankind with a giant mining laser and biological weapons. The program code that had been conserved on the bridge computers was debugged, improved and sold to other companies. Of course, the Eichenberg experts didn't think about what kind of "special offer" they had got. After a while of discussion, Elektronenhirn started to talk and offered the men a deadly game: They should turn the computer station into a battle arena and fight and kill each other. The one who finally won had the chance to escape. ----------------- 3) Building Notes: My goal for Elektronenhirn was a small level with computer/tech texturing and a very 3D-like design. The areas outside the main hall finally made it bigger than originally planned. There's plenty of weapons and ammo, especially for few players. The Quad requires a distant switch to be pushed before it can be taken. The true 3D environment makes the use of a mouse for control necessary. Elektronenhirn will probably be my last map for Quake 1. The story is based on the classic game "System Shock" from Looking Glass/Origin. Credits go to the makers of Worldcraft, wQBSP(v1.65), rVIS, Minlight, Adquedit, Paint Shop Pro, Zerstörer, and, finally, to id-Software. ------------------ 4.) Reaper Bot Notes: This map has a lot of broken ground, so the reapers sometimes have problems to move. However, they can go everywhere, and the level is still playable in a good way. Reapers have an advantage when attacking enemies above or below - a skill 1 reaper is a really deadly opponent in the main room. They will rarely get the Quad, because of the mechanism needed to be triggered to give access to the Quad.
