It is similar to the cooling towers level in Quake II, but still original. I like originality in levels. Additional Credits to : Beta Testing Crew : Me I guess ================================================================= FOR QUAKE II Other Levels by Author : For Doom II DKSHRINE.WAD (20 level WAD for Doom II) For Quake I DMHAUS.BSP MEDLAB.BSP ASTRUS.BSP BORAX.BSP For Quake II BORAX2.BSP Watch out for a new Quake 2 unit made by me, coming soon! STORY: It looks as though the Coalition of Man wan't to mine Stroggos. The damn capitalist countries would do anything for a dollar, even if it means risking the lives of miners of soldiers for a profit selling stuff no one really needs. One of these mining facilities still has Strogg living in it, making it thier home. However of would look bad for the mining company interested in exploiting the mine to send soldiers to capture it, so they sent you to set up the mine. It is not like you to refuse an offer to kick the asses of a bunch of slimy strogg, but you feel that giving the company the mine is unfair, after all, many soldiers from other countries lost thier lives in the Earth-Strogg war, why should just one company inherit the riches? In the briefing you find out that there is a Data CD in the base which must be used to operate the machinery, and seeing as it is the only one in existance, it is important it is kept safe. Well, maybe it will just go 'missing'. You arm yourself with a blaster expecting little or no resistance. You go in the kick ass, but to also make sure that no one can use the mine. Go and wreak havoc soldier! * Play Information * Single Player : Yes Cooperative : Yes, Quite a few starts, about 8 Deathmatch : Yes, Quite a few starts. May actually be good deathmatch play for 16+ players! Difficulty Settings : Yes. Easy isn't too easy though. New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No Demos Replaced : None HINT: You may not have ammo to kill the tanks each time you run into them, if you do nit have lots af ammo, just run away and go back later. There is enough ammo, but you may have to leave some tanks milling around before you can kill them. This makes the level more exciting! * About the level * Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) used : QERadiant Build Time : Don't know. About 2 months. Known Bugs : None I know of. Compile machine : AMD K5-PR100, 32 MG RAM. QBSP Time : 260 seconds Light (-extra -bounce 32) Time : 9107 seconds VIS (-level 4) Time : 21,049 seconds (6 hours) Brushes : about 1400 Entities : ? Models : ? Textures : ? * Additional Information * Have fun playing, as usual ammo is tight and so is health. You will do O.K. but don't expect it to be a walk in the park with the girl scouts! I don't have a 3D card (this makes QERadiant difficult to use, but I can still use it), so I don't really know what the coloured lighting is like. I kept it to a minimum so as not to get ugly colour combo's. It should look O.K. though, but there is less coloured ligting than usual. * Copyright / Permissions * Copyright Notice: You are free to copy this file for personal use, or to make it available for redistribution in its electronic format, provided that: (1) it remains wholly unedited and unmodified, (2) no fee or compensation is charged for copies of or access to this file, and (3) this copyright notice and the following disclaimer remain attached.
