Duke Nukem 3D - Atomic Edition
=============================================================================
Title -> Random Respawn Pack v1.12
Filename       -> RAND-RES.GRP
Author -> Paul Smith, a.k.a. Wally Waffles
Email Address  -> wallywaffles@geocities.com
URL            -> http://www.geocites.com/TimesSquare/Fortress/1896
Misc. Info -> Visual Basic sucks!!!!! And now I REALLY hate Micro$oft.
Description -> This new gamecode causes the weapons and items to respawn
                  randomly into another object. This now makes it possible
                  to use all the newer weapons in older levels! And if you
                  happen to play a user map, take advantage of the new
                  special effects:
                  *Mini-bosses 2-4 (change palette)
                  *Monsters with pals 3, 4, 18 respawn 75% translucent
                  *Troops with pals 4, 12, 18 are equipped with cloaking
                   devices, and alternate weapons
                  *Pigs with pals 12, 18 shoot expander shots
                  *Fake Nukebutton (#116): lets you end the EPISODE with the
                   push of a button (see RANDY.MAP for example)
                  *Mini ammos
                  If you want to poke around my CON files, search for NEW
                  ACTOR or NEW STATEMENT / MODIFIED ACTOR or MODIFIED
                  STATEMENT. (You may notice that it takes 3x longer for
                  items to respawn; I had to do this to prevent campers from
                  getting everything!)

                  To install, just unzip RANDY.BAT and RANDY.GRP into your
                  Duke3D directory and run RANDY.BAT. Pick "install" from
                  the menu and you'll be prompted for action. (Basically, I
                  just have to backup some of your files and extract a few
                  of mine from RANDY.GRP.)

                  UPDATE: Co-op sucks. It's not because it's co-op and not
                  DeathMatch, but because items don't respawn and you can
                  only pickup weapons once each life. If the damn things
                  would only respawn, I'd LOVE co-op! Well, now all
                  "non-respawn" multiplayer modes force the items to respawn.
                  Co-op no longer sucks! (And implimentation of this shrank
                  the code, so that's another plus!)

                  I've added RANDY.MAP, my test map to the GRP archive. It's
                  implimented in the game, technically, as E1L9. You can get
                  to it with start-up parameters or if your user-map plays
                  through to the next level it'll take you there. It
                  supports 8 players, DM/COOP, but it's nothing special, just
                  a boring test map.

                  The files for this addon used to be "RAND-RES.*", but I got
                  tired of typing "RAND-RES", so now it's just "RANDY.*".

Requirements    -> *Duke Nukem 3D - Atomic Edition v1.5
                   *2.31MB freespace to install
Play tips -> *Conserve ammo: Wack a Pigcop or Enforcer once with the
                    shotgun, then quickly swich over to the handgun or chain-
                    gun to finish him with as few as one bullet! (Or kick
                    'em while you reload).
                   *Learn to kick and shoot at the same time! When somebody
                    is in your face, it saves you ammo, and it saves your
                    butt sometimes.
                   *A quick and easy way to swich over to the Expander is to
                    hold your FIRE key and push the NEXT WEAPON key. If you
                    have expander ammo, this will usually cause you to swich
                    over.
                   *Bonus Healths can increase your health above 100. Try to
                    get up to 100 health points before collecting the bonus
                    healths.
                   *Low on health and armor? Blowing up a corpse will
                    sometimes reward you with a special bonus.
                   *Using the View Mode (F7) in DukeMatch can sometimes help
                    you ferret out your opponent if he's hiding behind a mask
                    wall that you might not know about. Plus, it's good for
                    peering around corners without getting your head shot.

** CONSTRUCTION **
Base            -> New code
Build Time      -> Began:  June 25, 1998
                   Last modified:  April 12, 1999
Editor(s) used -> Ken Silverman's Build utilities, Goldwave
Known bugs -> *Because of the way I had to program the random ammo, the
                    shrinker crystals don't pulsate (unless spawned by a
                    monster).
                   *"Regular" individual pipebombs operate normally (except
                    for the increased respawn time) because that code is
                    not editible.
                   *While DukeMatching with my cousin, he complained that
                    weapons automatically swiched over to the Foot instead of
                    something else whenever he ran out of ammo. But that
                    never happened to me...
                   *In multi-modes that are normally "non-respawn", an item
                    that is forced to respawn tends to reappear a moment
                    after its marker has disappeared.
