EXTENSION

     By: Josh Dunlavy

Thank you for downloading and looking at some of my Duke Nukem work.
As an avid fan of first-person shooters, I've tried to recreate Duke
with Doom influence in many ways. I grew tired of using BUILD to
create individual levels, which can be limiting, so I did some
editing and even *gasp* some con programming. When I grow more fond
with computer programming and when I get the proper tools, expect
this product to grow and develop as well.

I did this just for fun, but I'm still curious about the impression
WORLDS leaves on those who play it. I can be contacted at
Jimey@mindspring.com. I also have a permanent developing web
site at:

Don't cheat on this game!! Like any other game, WORLDS tends to
suck more if you cheat. The following has been changed or
included with WORLDS Ver. 1.4:

* A new gun called the Inferno Blaster (original)
* The Inferno Blaster has been upgraded to a more powerful weapon,
and can splatter weakened enemies. (Ver. 1.4)

* Simulated realism (the fancy name I gave to it) means that Duke's
days of charging into alien infested rooms... and living... are
over. You need to use strategy and a good aim to beat this game
  without cheating.

* Ammo tricks: kill certain enemies a certain way and they will drop
  a lot more...

* Seven new levels, designed with simulated realism in mind!
  (original)
* Two bonus levels designed to compliment the WORLDS atmosphere.
See the descriptions at the bottom of this file. (Ver. 1.4)

* New art imported into the Duke Nukem art library... I expanded
  my horizons... sorta. (Ver. 1.4)

-THE 'WORLDS' THEME-

Duke Nukem's adventures on planet Earth don't end there. A month
after the alien death squads were destroyed, the Earth Defense Forces
requested his assistance in an operation that would totally eliminate
alien presence from Earth: an all out assault against their domestic
fleets. Yes, EDF would strike them on their home planet, pursuing
the Overlord to his own territory.

-MISSION 1-

Duke is now the lone survivor of an attack gone wrong. Alien
resistance sliced through his regiments, and he lies stranded
in an alien wasteland.

His earpiece buzzes. "Come in, Unit 6. Is anybody there? Come
in..." Duke acknowledges the sound aloud, and his voice carries
back to EDF. He receives his orders:

"Duke! Walk ten miles east and you will see a canyon. Descend it.
The EDF has its hands full, and assistance won't reach you for
some time... That's why you must go and find an alien cargo-port,
nuzzled in the canyon walls. Hijack the last cargo ship and
report back. Alien security is at an all time low, but you will
still need to locate the hidden switches in order to locate the
ship hangar."

-MISSION 2-

A rocket slams into Duke's hijacked cargo ship, and he plummets back
down to the alien planet. To make matters worse, the aliens below
have been alerted to Duke's intrusion, and they will be waiting for
him. He lands in front of an alien communications station... and
a teleport gateway bunker. If Duke is going to die, he might as
well die trying to get the hell off this planet!

He heads to the bunker...

-MISSION 3-

"Duke? Duke! This is EDF, and we have reconfirmed your location...
You are in a very sticky situation, and unless you find your way to
the teleporter, you will be stuck in the bunker until you get caught."

The door behind Duke powers down and slams shut, trapping him.
It seems that the teleporter is accessible only by two keycards,
which need to be placed in the main control room. If Duke manages to
activate the second teleport, he will be at the right frequency so
the white collars at EDF can send him supplies in teleportation state.

-MISSION 4-

The teleport takes Duke Nukem back to Earth. He finds himself in the
old Earth Gate tower, which has been overrun.

"Duke, Earth Gate has been evacuated by all human life. Those that were
late escaping tried to flee to the cavernous interior in the building's
south quarters. Following their lead is your only hope to escape the
aliens that have overrun Earth Gate."

-MISSION 5-

EDF's communication begins to fade as Duke enters a cavern that will
take him away from Earth Gate.

The Grey Squadron, a notorious alien search and destroy party, has
located Duke Nukem and will attempt to end his life in the caverns.
Don't let them.

While you're finding your way out, see if you can locate the scientists
that attempted to escape the same route you're headed.

-MISSION 6-

Duke Nukem emerges victorious from the caverns to see an ugly storm
cloud looming in the sky.  A damp and rugged field lies before him;
a war was fought here not too long ago.

"Duke, we have located the Overlord... again. This time it's manning
an artillery station located on Earth. We have sent what we can to
infiltrate the stronghold, but we are relying on you to sneak in and
kill the Overlord. You know the aliens, Duke. We need you to be
there!"

Duke grabs his trusty gun collection and sets forth on his journey
over Mother Earth.

-MISSION 7-

The final showdown! The Overlord is inside, somewhere, and Duke
needs to get him. Little is known about the layout of this station,
and not much can be said, except...

DO OR DIE! (and have fun, you twit)

-The Bonus Levels (Ver. 1.4)-

A few brief accounts of the bonus levels I included. More levels
means more time for you to waste in front of your computer. :-)

-Journey Through the City of Gold-

The aliens' construction of civilization relies on much different
resources than Earth's. Currency is counted as ymizth, a substance
planted in the aliens' solar system. Ymizth is a substance that
invokes allergic reactions with humans, but ironically, gold is a
common metal on their planet and is used frequently in buildings
and architecture. The greatest city ever built with gold is located
high in the mountains, and it is known simply as "The Golden City."

-The Underwater Lairs-

The very pronunciation of Ererba strikes fear into the hearts of
human soldiers who have foughten on the aliens' home planet. The
interior channels of Ererba look innocent enough, until helpless
prisoners of war are cast through doors into black caverns, where
they are doomed to wander the stretches of underground caverns until
they die. Ererba is deteriorating, but it is heavily guarded by
alien predators and infantry.
