It consists of a deathmatch level called "Downtown"..which suprise suprise, is located downtown. We built this level back in 1996 and had it up in the AOL 3d realms archives for quite a while, but we dusted it off, added some stuff, and fixed a few things to make it better than ever! You'll probablly notice a few buttons that don't do anything, that's because we were going to make this level into a single player version, but decided not to. We left the buttons in because they add detail and look cool . There is some cool ducting throught the level, and also a couple secret areas...so be on the lookout for em. Now the second level is more to showcase the level, rather than make a pure deathmatch level. It is a level of my house, (as it was in 1996 when we built this level) and it looks so much like my house its scarry. We never uploaded this level to the old 3d realms board on AOL, but we've dusted this one off as well, and set it up for people to look around in, and if they like....wreak havoc in Deathmatch mode and trash it! :) Additional Credits to : 3D realms, for making a kick ass game :) ====================================================================== * Play Information * Episode and Level # : Single Player : No DukeMatch Level : Yes Difficulty Settings : Not implemented * Construction * Base : New levels from scratch Editor(s) used : Standard build Known Bugs : Ok....there are a couple bugs we know about. In the "downtown" level, there is a bug that when you get close to the back door in the bank..it will sometimes glitch and send you to the level below..it doesnt happen often, and really shouldnt be a problem. Also the fountain will crush you sometimes if you nudge right against the edge..this is also rare but to be safe don't hug the edge of the fountain while underwater..stay towards the middle. Now, in the "Jeffhouse" level there arent really "bugs" but the complicated structure of the house really pushed the build engine's capabilities...so there is HOMing when your in the living room and looking into the kitchen, and also we had to make a texture that you could walk through black, because you get hall of mirriors when you see two sectors above one another at the same time. * Where to get this MAP file * If you are reading this you already know. =========================================================================== * copyright stuff * Ok....3drealms and GT entertainment own all the DUKE stuff, characters, weapons, sound files, textures, etc etc. That's THEIRS, and if you try to sell it or something I'm sure they will send their nice men with briefcases and Bar degrees after you. Dis- tribute these levels FREELY ONLY. As for the design of the levels Sean and I made...those are OURS...we thought em up, built em and did all the hard work...so as a curtousy to us, and other people who work hard to build these levels for you...Don't claim they are yours. You may use these levels and see how we built stuff, but don't take credit for what you didn't do. Be creative and think up your own levels. Thats all I gotta say about that.
