Cacodemon Super Growth Hormone ------------------------------ This patch for DOOM registered version 1.666 replaces the cacodemon with a Super Cacodemon: TWICE the size of the original! To keep them proportional, they have eight times the mass and therefore are eight times more difficult to kill than the original cacodemons. Their fireballs can do up to four times the damage. Two new sound files relative to the cacodemon are included, along with the 36 .gif files that replace all of the original cacodemon sprites in DOOM.WAD. Please make a backup copy of your DOOM.WAD and DOOM.EXE files, as this patch permanently alters them. Also, you need dmgraph, dmaud, and dehacked in your DOOM directory to install this patch. Copy bigcaco.deh to your \patches directory if you have one. To use this patch, unzip it into your DOOM directory and type 'install'. To see the Super Cacodemons in action, type 'e2m9'. Included in the archive: bigcacos.txt This text file install.bat Installs the patch e2m9.bat Starts DOOM at E2M9, the only place in the original DOOM.WAD where this patch can be used without getting cacodemons stuck in the walls. bigcaco.deh DeHacked patch file 36 'head' .gifs Sprite replacements for DOOM.WAD caconear.wav Replacement sound for an engaged cacodemon cacodie.wav Replacement sound for a dying cacodemon This patch is not intended for use with already existing pwads and the DOOM.WAD because of the increased size of the cacodemons (they will all be stuck in the walls or ceilings!). It is designed for use with new pWADs specially made to account for the enormous size of the monster. Tools used: dmgraph, dmaud, dehacked, ImProcess, LView 1.8, PicLab 1.91, DOOM v1.666 Thanks to: Ajimon Mathai (for help with ImProcess and PicLab), and iD software, for the best shoot-'em up game on Earth!
