Tuesday 3rd February, 1997 =========================== Title : The Borax Factor Filename : borax.bsp Author : Dennis Katsonis Email Address : rotflol@hotmail.com Homepage : The Dk Shrine Home Page. This is the homepage of the 20 level DOOM II wad I made, visit it! http://www.anglefire.com/wa/Latency Description : This is my fourth quake level. Its a borax production factory/military base. The monsters wan't weapons and cleaner to clean clothes and houses. You mission is to take back the base. This is the best Quake level I have made, and I must admit it is damn good! Textures are all aligned (nearly) and lighting is natural. Make sure you look around carefully in this level. It's not a case of hunt the pixel, but you may not be able to find essential buttons or weapons of you rush without checking the area out. Additional Credits to : David Jesbury for stoneless. Ikka Keranan for his marvellous base textures. Coudn't have made this map quite as good as it is without them. Christian Findlay who graciously let me use his computer to QBSP the level a few times because my computer could barely hack it, I need more memory! Oh, and of course the people who made Quake, iD software, we salute YOU. Beta Testing Crew : Matthew Lepp for testing it a little, and me!. ================================================================= Other Levels by Author : DKSHRINE.WAD The file is DKSHRINE.ZIP it is CDROM.COM in the doom level section and also available through my Web page. DMHAUS.BSP MEDLAB.BSP ASTRUS.BSP Watch out for Quake 2 level made by me, coming soon! * Play Information * Single Player : Yes Cooperative : Yes, Quite a few starts Deathmatch : Yes, Quite a few starts, but I didn't design it with deathmatch in mind. If you are looking for a good big deathmatch level, this probably isn't it, but I may be wrong! Difficulty Settings : Yes. Easy isn't too easy though. New Sounds : No New Graphics : No, well new textures if they count. New Music : No Demos Replaced : None * About the level * Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) used : Stoneless 1.0, TreeQBSP 1.62, Arghlite, Captivation Vis Build Time : Ages. Known Bugs : Maybe a typo or two in this text file. A very minor texture misalignment or two may have slipped past me. Texture Wad used : Q.WAD;Ikbase.wad;dennis.wad Compile machine : AMD K5-PR100, 16 MG RAM. Final QBSP was done on christians, a p166 with 32mg ram QBSP Time : About 7 minutes Light (-extra) Time : 2917 seconds VIS (-level 4) Time : 4014 seconds This level has been Vis'ed for Gl Quake. I used the -transwater parameter when QBSP'ing so I assume that it has been Vis'ed for Gl Quake. I don't have Gl Quake though. Brushes : 1686 Entities : 403 Models : 46 Textures : 52 * Additional Information * Because of the way the items and game play are set out, it is difficult to determine if there is enough health and ammo, just because you have tons of ammo now, does not mean you won't run out later! There is enough health and just enough ammo, but if you are wastefull or a bad shot, you may run out! * Copyright / Permissions * Copyright Notice: You are free to copy this file for personal use, or to make it available for redistribution in its electronic format, provided that: (1) it remains wholly unedited and unmodified, (2) no fee or compensation is charged for copies of or access to this file, and (3) this copyright notice and the following disclaimer remain attached. If you are interested, please e-mail me and I can send the .MAP file and if required, the .XMP for use with stoneless. Remember, you must ASK me to use it, not just tell me that you are.
