It uses metal style textures (kinda) and light NEVER comes from just nowhere. There is always a source (Light texture, sky, etc). I can't stand how some mappers just bung a HUGE light in the middle of the room and then stick some little lights to fill in the shadows a little bit. That blows. Additional Credits to : Yahn W.
