I am, though, a visual artist who hates dos strings. WinVis is a GUI designed to work with lv21.exe (lv21.zip), light.exe (wooflite.zip), and Qbsp (Qbsp256c.zip). I have included these in the archive with their original text files from the original authors, as I know most of you are getting this to make your life easier. It is native Win95 and it should work on NT. The original files came from FTP.CDROM.COM in /pub/idgames2/utils/level_edit/bsp_builders/ Extract the Archive into your Quake directory or wherever, but make sure you use Winzip or th "-d" option in pkunzip. You need to have a folder named "Xtras" with a file named "Fileio.x32" in it. The first time you run it (or if you need to make changes) is click on "Set up Directory Locations" and enter the directory locations. Program location is where you unzipped Qwinlev.zip to, and the map directory is where you store all your maps. Then click the Directory button again to return to the main screen, then enter the map name (ex: bigroom {don't enter the extension!!}) and choose a program to run by pressing it's button. Make sure that before you press "vis" that you made a selection first (1-4 or fast). Make sure your texture wad is in the same directory as the program "Qbsp.exe" !!!! No, I haven't worked in multiple wads... You're still stuck with strings on that one... In order to end QWinLevel, click the 'x' as usual, or ESC. If I missed anything here, let me know. --------------------------------------------------- Comments, suggestions, bugs, email me at arocchio@virtualmedia.net or victim@virtualmedia.net Any problems with other programs, bother the original author, not me! ---------------------------------------------------
